One of the quickest ways of getting hold of someone in another country is of course to call them, and if they have a landline set up in their home, then this is simple enough, if not very expensive. As mobile are even more expensive to call in another country, many people have started using the internet to make calls through programmes like Skype. This allows users to make and receive calls no matter where they are in the world, and because the programme can assign them a local number, it means that the cost of calls won’t be too high.

The internet can also used in other ways to keep in touch with the people that matter the most. Fir example, instant messaging services, such as MSN, Skype and Facebook chat, allow user to type messages to one another. While this is considerably less expensive than a phone call, it means it can take a little longer to talk to everyone, however, this approach does work for a lot of people.

If you like writing, and want to write something a little more substantial than an instant message, then an email will allow you to pour out your heart to you nearest and dearest without interruption. The benefit of emails is that they arrive in their intended recipient’s inbox straight away, which means that there isn’t any delay in your correspondence getting to them. However, sometimes a handwritten letter is what you and your loved one need, because it’s just that little bit more personal. With a litter, you’ll also be able to send them hard copies of photographs, which can sometimes make all the difference to someone who’s feeling a little bit homesick. If their birthday or another big celebration like Christmas is coming up, why not send them a parcel from home, filled with letters from all their friends, family, plus photos, clothes, and maybe a few treats such as their certain type of drink or chocolate bar? Sending parcels to Europe and elsewhere often works out to be a lot cheaper than you might think, so look into sending them a care package, because it will remind them of how much they are loved and missed by the people that they care about.

A big move to another country is no excuse for not keeping in touch, and as these examples prove, it can be a lot easier and cheaper than you might actually think. So now there is no excuse not to staying in regular contact.

The number only says that there’s no stopping the common American from hitting the road to take a break. But how does one cope with all the spending to make sure that there’s enough left to go back to the normal life they left off? How does one prepare for traveling and avoiding hassles during and after their vacation?

Hotel rates are up between 5 and 10 percent.; Airfares, 14 percent; a gallon of gas? More than a $1 higher than last year. So what’s an American to do? Here are a few tips:

1. Awareness of Peak Travel Day Fees – Peak travel day fees are applied when there is a higher demand. These hidden travel fees increase the price of your flight, especially during the months of June, July, and August. During these months, every day is almost considered as a “peak” day. And the only way to avoid it? – postpone your vacation until the end of the summer, which is quite a hassle since you don’t want to ruin your kids’ summer vacation.

2. Bargains — There are lots of cheap travel packages going to the Caribbean, Cancun and Las Vegas during the summer months.

3. Travel Tips from CBP – They say that people who read fast get ahead. This might be true, except for some information that you really need to remember and digest like the tips from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Here are some CBP tips that you should remember before you go:

a. Have all the required travel documents for the countries you’re visiting. To add, identification for re-entry to the U.S. Passports are also required for re-entry.

b. Declare everything you are bringing in from abroad. This includes items that are bought in a duty free shop as these items are also subject to U.S. duty fees and other restrictions.

c. Be cautious when buying something from a street vendor. Some merchandise can be classified as counterfeit or unsafe and you may have to surrender it to the CBP when you get home.

d. Know that things bought abroad for personal use or as gifts are eligible for duty exemptions. But if you’re going to resell them, they are not eligible.

e. Have a quick look at the list of prohibited merchandise (such as ivory, tortoise shell, absinthe, and counterfeit items) and restricted merchandise.

f. Be aware that many foreign-made meds are not FDA-approved. You cannot bring these meds into the U.S. Also remember that, when traveling abroad, bring only the amount of medication that you’re going to use during your trip.

g. Cuban-made products are a big no-no.

h. Don’t bring any food into the U.S. without checking to see if it’s permitted. To add, exotic pets like live birds, whether it’s for your personal use or for commercial use, may be restricted and/or quarantined.

i. You also have to remember that CBP officers can inspect you and your belongings without a warrant. This may include your luggage, vehicle, and personal searches. This is meant to enforce U.S. laws as well as protect legitimate travelers.

4. Maintain Your Tires – Most people would opt to go on a road trip instead of flying, so a good advice to take is to check if your tires are properly inflated. Estimates show that U.S. motorists could save up to 700 million gallons of gas each year just by maintaining their tires properly. To add, tuning-up and putting the correct motor oil in your car can improve fuel efficiency by up to 4 percent.

5. Find a Cheap Vacation Rental — Looking for a cheap vacation rental near your intended destination can save you money, especially if you’re going out with a large group. Instead of booking a hotel during peak season, try to look for a vacation rental that has all the amenities that you need.

The magnificent circuits are sometimes called the Lord Curzon trail trek, named after the former invader of India, Lord Curzon. During ancient times, he discovered the mountain ranges, and made the extended trail from the pass to Joshimath. From that time on the trek becomes a well-famous spot for vacationers. Trekking is a popular activity for people who love adventure, exploring the wonders of the Himalayas. Spectacular sights of Gohna Lake are one of the most sought after views in the trek’s route. Anyone who frequents this place dazzles on the wonderful sceneries provided by the trail trek.

In addition, trekkers look forward to the astounding sights offered by the Nanda Devi mountain chains. The striking looks of these mountain ranges is one of the reasons why visitors flood the location annually. Nanda Devi is the east summit with the highest mountain elevation in India. Mountain chains from Hathi Parbat, Dronagiri and Gori Parvat are other main attractions of the Kuari Pass.

While passing the trail, trekkers and tourists can witness the abundant biodiversity of the place. The astounding sights of nature in the trail enable visitors to feel the richness of natural wonders, making them feel as if they are one of them. Other attractions include the snow-capped summits of Rhododendron, Deodar and Oak forest. Trekkers will never feel exhausted as they pass the trail due to the fresh breeze that takes away tiredness, allowing trekkers to rejuvenate and feel relaxed.

The trail gives a cherishing trekking adventure since the rich mountain ranges, with shepherd camps and gazing fields found in the Himalayan ranges, allow trekkers to feel proud of the journey. Once you get on the edge of the destination, you can comfort yourself in hot springs found in Tapovan, refreshing your exhausted body.

These are few of the things you can expect when you visit Kuari Pass; but if you want an unforgettable experience, make efforts to seek for the right trekking tours company. Go online, and do your homework. Checking on the right trekking tour can assure you for an unforgettable experience. Discover the path to Kuari Pass trekking, and feel nature right at your footsteps.

As a mother of two, I can understand that the joys of parenthood are priceless but I also realize that a little extra effort to connect with your spouse is a much needed and wise investment. The travel industry is taking notice and now many hotels and travel providers are creating some amazing packages and offers with the needs of expecting parents in mind. It is also an opportunity to celebrate your pregnancy!

Babymoon vacations are a relatively new concept in the industry but they are quickly gaining steam. Couples now have many options to pick from. Packages usually include multiple night accommodations, some meals and a spa service. That can be a sports massage for him and a pre natal massage for her. Other goodies can include craving bags, late check outs or even personal shoppers.

An excellent resource for luxury babymoon packages can be found at Babymoon.eu, an online pioneer of this exciting trend. You can peruse their options by destination. Many offers can be found under the Europe section. New options are now available in Mexico as well. An example of a package is their 7 day/ 6 night getaway at a hotel built for romance, Rosas & Xocolate, located in the tropical colonial city of Merida in Mexico. The package includes accommodations, some meals, tours, spa services and transportation for a bit over $3,000 USD per couple. It is a great deal considering all it includes in a destination known for its European style architecture and blend of Mayan traditions.

Keep in mind that timing is everything when planning a babymoon. After 28 weeks, most airlines require a letter from your doctor to fly. Each airline has their restrictions, so it is best to check with them while booking your vacation. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the safest time for a pregnant woman to travel is during the second trimester ( 18 through 24 weeks).

The single most popular and traditional dance is the “Kumina,” which originated in West Africa. This style of dance is predominantly found in the parishes of St. Thomas and St. Mary and is otherwise known as “Kalunga” or “Kaduunga.” Kumina features flat-footed inching of the feet (or the kongo step), a steady, but often subtle forward-thrusting of the hip with the rib cage and arms moving against the hip, followed by wild spins and sudden breaks, all signaled by the lead drum. The dominant elements of Kumina are dance, music, spirit possession, healing, and the use of herbs.

The drums used in the dance are the Kbandu, which provide the basic rhythms, and “Playing Cast,” the lead drum. These go together with candles, graters, shakas and catta sticks, played on the back of the drum. According to Jamaica Journal, Volume 10, No.1, “Linguistic evidence cites the kongo as a specific ethnic source for the ‘language’ and possibly the music of Kumina.” There are Congolese words in some of the Kumina songs performed in Jamaica, which shows Jamaica’s connection to Africa.

A Kumina session involves dancing and drumming of two natures. Bailo is more public and less sacred, where songs are sung mainly in Jamaican dialect. Country is more African in nature and is a serious dance involving two leaders, a male and a female. The leaders must be able to control the zombies, or spirits, and assume their positions of leadership after careful training in their feeding habits, ritual procedures, dances, rhythms, and songs of a variety of spirits, conducted by a previous king or “captain” and queen or “mother.”

Jamaica has a vibrant Kumina dance group called the Port Morant National and International Kumina Dancers. The group has been around for as long as most members of the group can remember, including Bernice Henry, who states, “The group has been around from when I was born. My grandmother was an old African woman. My mother passed it on and I passed it down to our children.” Bernice says that the group consists of about twenty members, and sometimes they have to form smaller groups, depending on the occasion.

Other traditional folk dances are Dinki Mini, Quadrille, Bruckins, Mento, Maypole, and Junkunoo. The Dinki Mini/Minnie Gerreh is a type of dance generally done in the eastern end of the island, even though Gerreh is from the west. This dance is said to be done when an individual in the community dies, and the dancers perform this dance in celebration of the person’s life.

Ettu/Etu is practiced mainly in Hanover by people who claim Yoruba ancestry; this type of dance is normally performed at weddings, feasts, nine nights, and forty nights. The Nago dance is a Westmoreland based dance which is similar to Etu, mainly practiced at dances. Buru/Burru is a variant of John Kunnu, which is believed to be a fertility masquerade dance.

Manchester is home to two of the biggest and richest clubs in world football. Tickets to see Manchester United and Manchester City play must usually be booked in advance, but even if you are unable to secure tickets over the duration of your visit, a trip to see the Old Trafford Stadium will be on the wish list of most footy fans. Manchester has a proud tradition of fostering a cutting edge music scene over the last 30 years and longer, and the city still has a vibrant music scene. Large venues like the Manchester Evening News Arena seats over 21,000 and hosts many famous international acts.

For those that prefer their cultural classics a little less modern, Manchester is home to both the Halle and BBC Philharmonic orchestras. The 2,500 seater Bridgewater Hall, a purpose designed venue that open in 1996, is an excellent place to take in some classical music, as is the Free Trade Hall on Peter Street.

Continuing the theme of high culture, the Manchester Opera House frequently hosts large touring productions and West End musicals ? make sure that you book in advance if you want to take in one of these shows. In fact, you can find Opera performed right across the city, in the Palace Theatre, the Royal Exchange Theatre, and the Lowry Centre ? the choice is yours.

To properly explore the history of Manchester you could do worse than a visit to the free-to-enter Manchester Museum, which covers the history of the area from Roman Times onwards. The city has good selection of public museums, including the Museum of Science and Industry, the Museum of Transport, and the Imperial War Museum North.

Siesta Key beach finishes every year among the best beaches in the United States. Siesta Key is an 8 mile long barrier island surrounded by water, located just off Sarasota. This beach has a particularly fine and white sand, that feels refreshing on the skin. It is made 99% out of quartz, so it is great to play in. Siesta Key is a great spot to spend your weekend, and there are regular flights to Tampa and Sarasota, the two closest cities.

Clearwater beach can be found on the west coast of Florida, west of Tampa. It is a great place to spend a week with your family, because of its fun atmosphere and large scale of activities for any ages and tastes. The water is very calm, and one can take long walks along the pretty beach. The beach can be accessed easily: you have to take a plane to Tampa or St. Petersburg.

About 45 minutes from Orlando there is the 23-mile Daytona Beach, where you can enjoy your vacation together with your family and friends. This a great place for those who prefer the Atlantic Ocean instead of the Gulf of Mexico. Daytona Beach today is ideal for family travel, and there are plenty of fun activities to choose from, so your kids will love it.

Miami Beach is particularly popular during the spring break. College students from all around the country come here to party, but families with kids will also love this place. You will never get bored down at South Beach and Miami. Actually, it may be more difficult to find a peaceful and quiet place, so if you are looking for a secluded beach, Miami is not for you.

Marco Island can be found on the west coast of the Florida peninsula, just south of Naples. Marco Island is the largest of Florida’s famous Ten Thousand Islands, and is a hot getaway for beach goers. This is a great place for those who don’t like the lively noise of Daytona Beach and Miami. The water is refreshing and the beach is pretty. This is the perfect getaway for those who want to get away from the hustle ad bustle of other, more crowded beaches.

The Dubai Grand Mosque is the most attractive mosque in Dubai and is also the most The Grand Mosque is also home to Dubai’s tallest minaret, where the muezzin, or crier, calls the people to prayer. Non-Muslims are not permitted inside the mosque. The Grand Mosque, located in the city’s Bur Dubai section, is actually a recreation of the original Grand Mosque, constructed in 1900. Traditional Persian details abound, such as domes, an inspiring sky-blue mosaic, sand-hued facades, handmade stained glass, and wooden shutters. Originally opened in 1900, the Grand Mosque of Dubai has recently been rebuilt in traditional Islamic architectural style. Throughout its transformations, the mosque has remained an important center of religious and cultural life. Now with a capacity of 1200 worshippers, and the tallest minaret in the city, it is all the more integral in Dubai society. Non-Muslims are not permitted to enter the mosque, but definitely go see the minaret and take a few pictures of this symbol of Muslim worship.

The Grand Mosque in Bur Dubai is home to the city’s tallest minaret. It was built in the 1990s in the style of the Grand Mosque, which dated from 1900 but was demolished to make way for another mosque in 1960.
The new Grand Mosque‘s sand-colored walls and wooden shutters blend perfectly with the surrounding old quarter of Bur Dubai.Jumeirah Mosque, is known for its size and elaborate design. The best time to see it is at night, when it is spectacularly lit up. The stunning Iranian Mosque has incredibly detailed blue mosaic work typical of Persian building design. Non-Muslims are not allowed to enter mosques in the UAE. Next door, the Heritage and Diving Villages have displays on pearl diving and dhow building, two of old Dubai’s economic mainstays.
Another area re-creates traditional Bedouin and coastal village life, complete with barasti (Persian) homes, a traditional coffeehouse and a small souq where you can buy freshly made dosa (a flat, grilled bread). A Museum with items from nearby archaeological sites is also interesting.
